FOMEN Final Conference
Addressing intercultural sensitivity, gender equality and GBV prevention in the work with men with migration backgrounds
The FOMEN European project is based on innovative approaches focusing on the work with men in an intercultural perspective promoting gender equity and preventing violence among migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.
FOMEN started in 2019 and includes an interdisciplinary team across Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Spain. In the last two years, key professionals and male migrants and refugees have been involved in the project in pilot countries and across Europe. The action is strengthening social inclusion and raising awareness of institutions and practitioners around antiracist and violence preventive perspectives in addressing gender equality in Europe.
The Conference will offer a European-wide overview of the FOMEN experience, approach, and methodology, host the active participation of key actors and institutions, and will give room to discussion and exchange on how to follow up in the dialogue around gender equality, intercultural sensitivity and violence prevention within the migration context.
